WE CARE CONNECTION TO STAY AT BETHEL!
We Care Connection of Cleveland , Ohio is a faith based, non-profit outreach called to connect the homeless to Christ by contributing to their essential needs, including the building and bridging of grace-filled relationships.
This ministry was born out of one family’s desire to teach their children about people who are less fortunate than they. They shared with the Bethel Church of the Nazarene’s church board how instead of partaking in the church's annual Thanksgiving dinner they would be going to the streets of Downtown Cleveland to deliver lunches to the homeless. The church “jumped on board” and in November 2005 thirteen adults and children went to the homeless with blankets, scarves, gloves, and lunches. On the third trip out, one lady kept asking one of the teenage participants, “Why? But why?” The teenager answered, “Because we care.”
We Care Connection currently serves 350-400 homeless people each month. They make a minimum of twelve stops with their converted schoolbus that was donated and put into use in 2009. They are always looking for others who are interested in helping the homeless. They have added a monthly bible study to their agenda at one of the shelters.
. In October of 2010, we thought We Care Connection would make a move from Cleveland Bethel Church of the Nazarene to become a part of the Victory One Compassionate Ministries Center at Cleveland Victory Church of the Nazarene. At this time, February 2011, this has not taken place and is no longer in our immediate plans. God is doing much through both ministry sites and we anticipate great opportunities in the future
